About the Event
Art often responds to the imperfections and horrors of life. Necessity for art is proportional to the magnitude of a tragedy. Good art not only responds to suffering but also offers a subtle antidote: Search for artistic perfection is a sublimation of imperfections of Being.
In the upcoming lecture I will show examples of great art that were triggered by challenges of life and will discuss the mechanism by which art can elevate us above our traumas.
