About the Event

We are very pleased to offer a new seminar by Jonathan Hirschfeld and Ilya Gefter on Caravaggio's "Beheading of Saint John the Baptist".

The discussion will address the circumstances surrounding the creation of Caravaggio's masterpiece and the drama of the artist's last years.

We will present a series of Caravaggio’s innovations and analyze the painting from philosophical and artistic perspectives, situating it within its context of other works from the period.
