In this lecture, we will examine what intrinsic qualities make an artwork good and valuable. We will discuss a range of artworks and look beyond their style and status to explore the visual properties which make up their artistic significance. We will compare bad paintings with great ones to identify and verbalize the key differences.
The lecture is designed for artists, students and anyone with interest in the visual arts.
