In today's art world novelty is glorified while more "traditional" art forms are greeted with decreasing acceptance. However, some of the most revolutionary artists grew out of a deep connection to the past. In this lecture, we will examine the interconnection of creative individuality, innovation and artistic tradition. The lecture is designed for artists, students and anyone with interest in the visual arts.
