We are pleased to announce the opening of a new and especially thorough semester-long art course.

“The Figure” offers immersive study of drawing and painting the most essential of subjects. The course is structured to guide participants on the quest of mastering drawing of most complex form and managing most subtle colors. We will lean to capture the motion,  structure and three-dimensionality of the figure.  We will discover how light unveils the form and color of the human body. 

Working from statues and models you will advance your perceptual and technical ability. A methodical approach will guide you toward surpassing by far your current skill level, to gain true freedom of drawing and painting any subject you may desire.

The lessons will include thorough explanations of painting and drawing procedures, bi-weekly demonstrations and personalized guidance.

Gesture posture and motion of the figure
Command of Proportions
Mastery of three-dimensional form
Light and shadow on the human body
Figure painting in monochrome
Limited palette variations for figure painting 
Capturing the colors of the body
